PIERRE DE LA PORTE

I started playing drums at the age of 7 in 2005 and have been playing ever since. I started playing at churches at the age of 13 and then joined a band called Held On Till May in 2015 who shared the stage with some of SA's finest acts such as Fokofpolisiekar, Die Heuwels Fantasties, Francois van Coke, Arno Carstens, CrashCarBurn and Straatligkinders, to name a few. I've also performed as the drummer for The Barnyard Theatre, Juan Boucher, Elandré, James Deacon, Ruiter Piet, Oooth, Tasha, Gerhard Steyn, various tribute shows and many more. I did my Grade 8 practical examination for drumming in 2015 & I studied Jazz for one year at TUT's Arts Campus after finishing school. I've been teaching drums since 2017.
